Here, I will occasionally post updates from my kitchen based on season. I always change my recipes with the change of season. For one, our bodies crave differently based on outside temperature and condition. Second, we have to listen to our bodies for a healthier living. Third, our parents lived this way and fed so many bodies and souls for generations based on such alignment.

Seasonal cooking:
To me eating good and tasty food is vital. We all want a healthy body for ourselves and our family especially our children. If you look closely with so many choices available these days some of us are not eating better and healthier. Personally I think too many choices are making us more confused and less courageous towards cooking.
My solution? Seasonal cooking. Here is why?
I have limited ingredients that I can make a decision based on them.
They are readily available, have more flavor and last but not least tie in directly with my body’s natural cravings in different season.
Off course, I have to watch my wallet and shop smart too. Fortunately, with so many great shopping apps for sale items or flash frozen vegetables in season, I can achieve both flavor and wallet goal.

 Seasonal gardening:
When I was living in an apartment, a portion of my balcony was dedicated to recycled wooden boxes from grocery stores or beautiful vases in the kitchen. All I needed was to fill them up with good soil, plant few herb seeds and water them as needed. Even in the busiest days, picking few leaves to add to any dish would cheer me and my belly up. Feeding mind and body!!! Is the goal.
Nowadays I have a good size back yard and gradually became a seasoned gardener.
From early spring to late fall I enjoy cooking with herbs and creating big bold flavors in any dishes.
Of course surplus herbs and vegetables always get shared with family and friends too. Nothing beats creating love and great memories through food!
